What is OAW's 23 Hour Stay?
OAW's 23 Hour Stay at The Orthopaedic Surgery Center (TOSC) provides for a high-quality and lower cost option along with a convenient and comfortable setting for procedures that were typically done in an hospital inpatient setting now in our out-patient setting.
Typically, 23 Hour procedures will begin late morning of the day you are scheduled for surgery and you will be released home within 23 hours or less depending on your recovery.
How do I determine if I qualify for my surgery to be performed at the 23 Hour Stay at The Orthopaedic Surgery Center?
Your physician will determine and discuss with you if you meet the necessary criteria if you are having a Total Anterior Hip Replacement, Robotic Partial Knee Replacement, Total Shoulder Replacement, Spine Surgery or Complex Fracture Care.
The Orthopaedic Surgery Center accepts MOST major insurances. If you have a question regarding your plan, please feel free to call our billing department at 262-303-5055, option 5.
The Orthopaedic Surgery Center is staffed by Board Certified/Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Physicians. Along with a highly qualified nursing staff and anesthesiologists that will be monitoring your care before, during and after your procedure.
Our staff will coordinate a follow up appointment for 7-14 days after your procedure with your orthopaedic physician prior to your procedure. In the interim your physician and our health care staff will be available for you for any needs that may arise during this time.
Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin offers same day and next appointments during our daytime hours for urgent issues. Please call 262-303-5055 to discuss your situation with one of our nurses who will direct you for the appropriate care. Outside of normal business hours our on-call physician will be available for your needs.
