Lisa Filzen, PA-C Physician Assistant

Professional Background & Expertise

I have always been passionate about the medical field and was drawn to the versatility of a Physician Assistant career. With 16 years of experience in orthopedic surgery,, I specialize in the conservative and surgical management of hip and knee conditions, particularly total joint replacements. I previously spent 13 years at OAW supporting Dr. Bong and Dr. Schneider and am excited to return in a slightly expanded role. In addition to continuing my work with them, I will also be treating a broader range of orthopedic conditions in the OrthoASAP clinic.

Education & Patient Care Philosophy

I earned both my Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences (2008) and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies (2009) from Marquette University. The majority of my experience has been in treating patients with arthritis, and I find great fulfillment in seeing their quality of life improve. My goal is to provide patients with the knowledge they need to fully understand their condition and treatment options, working together to develop an individualized plan that best suits their needs.

Life Outside of Work

Outside of my career, I love spending time with my husband (Ben), daughter (Sammie), son (Vinny), and dog (Chip). I enjoy staying active outdoors, golfing, reading, and traveling to explore new places.
